Tales and Tunes of the Scottish Highlands

An evening of traditional stories and bagpipe tunes from the Scottish Highlands and the North American Gaelic diaspora: tales of landscape goddesses, sea maidens, shapeshifting, tragic love, heroic struggle and unexpected encounters.
Michael Newton (Ph.D. Celtic Studies, Edinburgh University) is an authority on Scottish Gaelic history, tradition and literature. Bill Caudill (M.A. Folklore, UNC) is the Director of the Scottish Heritage Center at St. Andrews University and the director of the St. Andrews bagpipe band.
“Tales and Tunes of the Scottish Highlands” will be held in the Morehead Lounge in Graham Memorial Hall (room 109 in The James M. Johnston Center for Undergraduate Excellence), and is free and open to the public.
